I fix Computers, Laptops, Cell phones(Droid, Iphone), and install IP Security Cameras for a living. Me and my partner are thinking about moving to Fortaleza. Questions:

1) Are these services\skills needed in Fortaleza.
2) What can I expect to pay in rent for a commercial space(Store Front). I want to pay $500\mnth
3) What LOCAL cell-phone service(Unlimited) is best to get while there.
4) Is there a TECHNICAL school there where I could teach my skills to the locals. We speak only English for now!
5) We want to live close\or on the bus route to where our store is to be located. Where would you recommend staying. We are want to stay for 2 years.

Great article.

Thanks

Hi. I am not the author, but I am married to a Brazilian and go to Brazil all the time for months and months. (I never want to go home-LOL!)

Do you like White women or black women? Brazil has some of the most gorgeous women on this planet, believe me(!)

Brazil has states, like the USA. One great place to start would be Bahia (try the resort city of Porto Seguro). Bahia is a state that is 90 percent African. The African slaves co-mingled with the Portuguese and others, so you have these tall, sensual Afro-Brazilian godesses with drop dead curvy bodies and green eyes. Plus, there are all other Brazilians on vacation there all the time.

Brazil has a better racial history than America, but there is some discrimination against black people. That is beginning to change, because about 40 or 50 percent of Brazilians have some sort of African origins. Sao Paulo state (capital city of Sao Paulo) is another great place to look. It is the economic engine of Brazil. Sao Paulo is a huge city that has about 5 times the population of greater NYC! There are all sorts of women.

Finally, if it is white women you want, try the south of Brazil... the cities of Curitiba, Londrina, Porto Allegre. Just remember that Brazil is a huge country (actually bigger than the USA if you don't count Alaska), and you will need at least 2,000 dollars to have a truly great time. With the crappy, low US dollar you might get about 3,700 Brazilian Reais (R$3.700,00) That might sound like a lot, but the beautiful women you meet will want to go to dinner, dancing, and just maybe your hotel. Brazilian women are not that "easy" as you think (unless of course they are hookers), but if you go out, and get to know them I am sure you will have a great emotional and physical (sexual) relationship. Once you have a girlfrien in Brazil, she will be yours... Brazilian women are very loyal, which is so ironoc because 90 percent of Brazilian guys cheat...they "can't" help it. It's like a wolf being in charge of a chicken coop (LOL) Brazilian women are just soooo gorgeous!

Hi John,
There should be more articles like yous. It was very informative and unbiased. I subscribe to Intl. Living, but feel like they're always peddling something and backing their product with glowing reports. You tell the good and the bad. I've been to Sao Paulo a few times and to the south of Brazil, and identified with what you have written. Keep up the good work. I appreciate it.
