Travel Expert Searches World For Best Place To Live And Retire
Beginning January 17, 2010, world traveler, and published author Michael Manville will embark on an eye-popping 180 day ”amazing race” covering 6 countries and over 15,000 miles to reveal the best places in the world for lifestyle, investment, and retirement.
Michael intends to answer many of the questions burning in the minds of the more than 50 million Americans now approaching retirement:
Can I retire comfortably overseas on less than $1000/month?
Are things like medical prescriptions, doctor and dentist therapies really 60% to 80% cheaper overseas compared with the U.S.?
Which countries are offering the best incentives to foreign retirees?
Where are the best value locations for beach lifestyles, urban lifestyles, and country lifestyles?
Is the food, entertainment, shopping, golf and other activities available of higher quality at a much lower price than in the U.S.?
Can maids, nurses, chauffeurs, and other help really be hired for $300 – $400 per month?
Are lifestyles healthier overseas?
Are fresh organic produce, spa and holistic therapies, and other alternative health remedies available?
Where should you stay, where should you dine, and where should you go if you were to visit one of these countries?
Do any of these locations offer business and investment opportunities?
Are there reliable professionals available such as real estate agents, attorneys, tour guides, property managers, and insurance providers to assist with your relocation?

Wow! And I thought I had a great job! I would love to suggest the small town of Chelem, in Yucatan MX. The local people are fabulous, there is a strong expat community, excellent health care, 1/2 hour from an International airport and very cheap cost of living. We have lived here nearly 3 years and love it! You can also be back in the US in two hours. Enjoy your travels!
AND WHAT KIND OF JOB DO YOU HAVE IN CHELEEM?
THANK YOU,
DENISE
Michael has something I don’t. He speaks Spanish. If I were fluent in Spanish, I’d select another place but we’re building a home in Cayman Brac, CI. When I tell people I’m planning to retire early and move to the Cayman Islands, they think white sands, cruise ships, posh resorts and banking. They’re thinking Grand Cayman. But Cayman Brac is a smaller sister island of Grand Cayman and is located closer to Cuba and Jamaica than Grand Cayman. Think small town from the American south plopped down on a Caribbean island. We benefit from being part of the Cayman Islands (low crime, prosperity, high standard of living) but without the glamour.
At any time we may have 200 adventure tourists enjoying our rare wildlife, deep sea fishing (200 yards from shore) diving, rock climbing and snorkeling. We have three nice grocery stores, a bank, a couple of gas stations. Sand beaches are scant so posh resorts aren’t our thing. Check it out – Cayman Brac.
