Michael has something I don’t. He speaks Spanish. If I were fluent in Spanish, I’d select another place but we’re building a home in Cayman Brac, CI. When I tell people I’m planning to retire early and move to the Cayman Islands, they think white sands, cruise ships, posh resorts and banking. They’re thinking Grand Cayman. But Cayman Brac is a smaller sister island of Grand Cayman and is located closer to Cuba and Jamaica than Grand Cayman. Think small town from the American south plopped down on a Caribbean island. We benefit from being part of the Cayman Islands (low crime, prosperity, high standard of living) but without the glamour.

At any time we may have 200 adventure tourists enjoying our rare wildlife, deep sea fishing (200 yards from shore) diving, rock climbing and snorkeling. We have three nice grocery stores, a bank, a couple of gas stations. Sand beaches are scant so posh resorts aren’t our thing. Check it out – Cayman Brac.

Wow! And I thought I had a great job! I would love to suggest the small town of Chelem, in Yucatan MX. The local people are fabulous, there is a strong expat community, excellent health care, 1/2 hour from an International airport and very cheap cost of living. We have lived here nearly 3 years and love it! You can also be back in the US in two hours. Enjoy your travels!

On Jan. 20, 2010 I recieved an Email from you people about a trip being taken by Michael Manville, in order to follow him on the journey I had to sign up on or before Jan. 18, 2010 however I didn’t get your email on time you sent it on Jan. 19, 2010 at 10:57 PM, as I said earler I recieved it on Jan. 20, THANKS LOADS. It may have been worth while I quess I’ll never know.

Retired from the USAF and 3M Tape, on my 3rd year living in Ho Chi Minh City, ( Saigon ) Vietnam and I
love it and the people. Living is very affordable, food is good, don’t need to bring any clothes, cheaper to
buy them here. A lot of places to go, see, and enjoy. Good luck on your travels.

Wish you good luck on your travels. Hope your plans include Malaysia. I have been in Malaysia for 7 months now and have found the people to be wonderful and the food is outstanding. I am from the U.S.A . Also the cost of living is very cheap. Again good luck on your travels.
