Thank you, Dianne, I was hoping for just that reaction. Like many projects, you begin with one idea in mind, but the end result is quite different. I hope you get a chance to design your jewelry in the Caribbean, because it truly is a fabulous place to live. My grandfather was from New Zealand; his brother became a successful artist, and I've always had the dream to spend some time there myself. Perhaps that will be my next great adventure!

This was a very interesting and informative article, thank you for that. As a lifelong artist and now jewellery designer and manufacturer I have often thought of living in the Caribbean or somewhere in that region, on a beach, and simply doing what I love to do the most. I have often wondered abut the in's and out's of it all, and what would be required, and even though this article only talks about Puerto Rico, it has inspired me again to think about a change in lifestyle, and given me an idea of what might be required in other countries in that region. I am a New Zealander and live in New Zealand, but for a long, long time I have been considering moving to that side of the world. I went to the Caribbean in 2008 but of course wasn't there long enough, and I am looking forward to returning as soon as I can, and I studied Spanish for a year and a half before my trip in 2008, so would love to go back and learn how to speak spanish properly!
