The US may be leading the way in forging a way ahead, whilst international allies, especially those in Europe, are still coming to terms with the devastation caused by the 2008 banking crisis.

The more talent that leaves the US, the more that those left behind will have to pick up the tab. Those left behind then begin to look at their options – and the American talent drain becomes a vicious circle and it’s a problem being replicated in many westernised nations.

Leverage the cost of living
America might not be the most expensive place to live – but is sometimes feels like it! Hi rents, hi gas costs … The relevancy of the cost of living is difficult, perhaps quality of life is better. For people looking to retire abroad, the cost of living can be a critical factor. And it is one which makes many Asian and South American countries attractive. Overseas income, in their case pensions, goes a lot further in local currency. But when you’re working locally you’ll earn a local wage. It may be a high local wage to reflect a skill set not available in the indigenous population – think of the offshore financial services industry. If you earn a good salary and pay low taxes then to some degree your cost of living is irrelevant.
What to do?
Whatever your occupation there’s bound to be something available to suit your whims and qualifications. Professionals, such as lawyers and accountants, often flock to the highly-paid low-tax offshore jurisdictions such as the Caribbean, South East Asia and the Channel Islands.
Teaching is by far the most popular overseas job of choice which a host of positions available to teach English as a Second Language (ESL) Also nannies, housekeepers, engineers, marketers – pretty much every occupation is in demand somewhere in the world.

This is a great idea to make it easier for people to look for work abroad. Many, many people would like to move, but they have no idea on where to start.
Also, because of the lack of information out there, many people “go for it”, and by the time they figure out the right route to take, they are out of finances and end up moving back home.
You ask what articles we would like to see – I would love something comprehensive on what countries offer excellent medical care, and which countries offer inexpensive yet quality medical care. Or even just articles on one country at a time that offer this, how it works there.
