Escapeartist Mexico wants to hear about your unique story and share it with our readers worldwide in Escape to Mexico Magazine online. A FEW WORDS FROM OUR PRODUCER
Jim Hayden – Planet Pictures: “What makes Escapeartist’s mission–and passion–more exciting and relevant than ever is the alternative they provide all of us, all over the world, who’ve gotten pinched in this economy. Millions have experienced the pain of watching our financial futures turn to dust. Or so we may have THOUGHT! Escapeartist brings us a very different window on life—namely, this endless array of alternatives for living it. REALLY living it, in a style many Americans might have given up on! Could it be, that just as we were afraid of going broke here in the good ol’ US of A, we might actually be wealthy–some place else? We decided to find out and we’re going to start by taking a good look at Mexico. First of all, it’s always been the most popular destination for Americans and Canadians looking for that sunny getaway. It’s estimated over a million of “us” are living in Mexico right now, and that’s despite all the recent bad publicity. Why don’t we see them heading back north again? Turns out, people STILL love it down there! Escapeartist clocks over 22,500 inquiries about Mexico a month. So what’s the story—the REAL STORY—about Mexico? First of all, it’s a BIG place—about the size of Western Europe. Even the most dire travel warnings focus on just portions of Mexico’s three northern-most states. Three out of…31 States? Don’t get me wrong—life is not good for the cross-border drug trade these days, and that’s very intentional, but what about Americans living in or visiting Mexico legally? The statistics say, for visitors even to the most dangerous places (which can and should be avoided just out of common sense), the chances of becoming a statistic are still GREATER in 25 American cities—like Milwaukee, Baltimore or Cincinnati. By comparison, a visitor to New Orleans or Detroit takes a 300 – 400% higher risk of violence than an American making a legal visit to virtually ANY city in Mexico! Clearly, what’s on the nightly news doesn’t match that reality, either in the statistics or the positive experience of so many real people. We see a great story here and everybody deserves to find out about “The Real Mexico”.
