Resources for Turning Your Desire for Ultimate Freedom in Location and Work into a Reality

I will make a pledge to you, my dear readers.  I will not bombard you with all sorts of useless crap I think you should buy.  If I personally write an article suggesting a product or a service, it is only because I am sincerely and ridiculously excited about it or it is something that has truly helped me in the past.  These courses I am now about to show you…well, they are pure brilliance to me and I wish that I could be a fairy and go give one copy of each to everyone I know.  Instead, I will do the next best thing and at least open your eyes to the fact that they exist.  You can thank me later when you are sitting on the beach somewhere, financially independent, loving life and remembering back to the days when everything seemed so much more difficult.

There are two authors in this world who really rocked my world when it came to helping me define the lifestyle that I wanted to create for myself.  One is Timothy Ferriss from the legendary book The Four Hour Workweek: Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere, and Join the New Rich. The 4-Hour Workweek: Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere, and Join the New Rich (Expanded and Updated)

Tim showed me how I was actually complicating way too many  things that did not have to be complicated, and that I was wasting so much of my life doing pointless, non-productive things that I didn’t need to be doing, and that I certainly did not enjoy.

The second author is Chris Guillebeau who wrote The Art of Non-Conformity: Set Your Own Rules and Live the Life You Want.  The Art of Non-Conformity: Set Your Own Rules, Live the Life You Want, and Change the World

As one reader said, and I happen to agree, ‘This book is like a lightning bolt to the head. Read it and your brain will spark and sizzle’.  Chris taught me to embrace life as a constant adventure, to never settle for anything less than extraordinary, and he armed me with tools to actually go out and do so.  Lots of people out there will tell you how to lead a better life, and it’s all great in theory, but where does one actually begin?

What I love about Chris is that he will never tell you how to do something that he hasn’t already mastered himself. He studied in Seattle, worked for a medical charity, saw himself getting into the rat race…and decided that he would be no one’s little monkey. He has since traveled to over 150 countries, and challenges the status quo everywhere he goes.  He really is a great example of someone who lives their life unapologetically on their own terms, and can offer step-by-step advice that will have you not only believing that you too can create a life so far beyond your current wildest dreams, but before you know it, he will have you well on your way there!

Well, in true Chris fashion, he goes big. He has since come out with a bunch of specific courses.  Here are a couple of my favorites for people wanting to bust out of their rut and get on their way to living more fully, wherever in the world that they wish:

Empire Building Kit:  Unconventional Guides Product Page To me, this kit is quintessentially Chris. He will never tell you that you will get overnight results, or that things happen by magic. Instead he will help you to dream big, then he will show you the step-by-step, VERY clear path to get yourself there.  This course is meant to be followed over a year’s time. He will give you one simple thing to do every day for a year, to get you on your way to build an empire. Without the daily steps, the end result seems like an enticingly good idea, but usually no one knows where or how to start.  He is very up front and honest about mistakes he has made so you don’t have to repeat them, and he opens up all of the nitty-gritty details on how he has created a very sustainable business for himself that has allowed how to travel the world full-time. Just think of where you could be this time next year if you started today!

Frequent Flyer Master: Unconventional Guides Product Page This one always makes me smile.  Here is a man who knows how to work the system to his advantage, and he wants to show you how to do the same thing. Chris wants to democratize travel and make it so that you can very easily earn a plane ticket or two a year without doing much.  He can show you how to earn over 200,000 miles without ever stepping foot on a plane. He will show you the big opportunities that give you 30,000 miles at a pop.  You know how it is, you see things all over the place that tell you that they will give you airline miles, but how do you streamline the process?  How do you know that you are taking advantage of every opportunity?  And trust me, this man has been to over 150 countries, and flies mostly for free…he knows a thing or two about this topic.

Freelancing 301: Unconventional Guides Product Page This is for all of you who want to give up the boss and the 9-5 life to become a freelancer.  He is very realistic that while it may be easy to start a freelance business, it is not so easy to maintain or run one successfully.  He will never tell you how to do your craft, but he will tell you how to monetize it to the fullest while still freeing yourself up to have a lot of time to enjoy other things in life.  This course will get you thinking like a strategist, not someone crossing their fingers and hoping that things will work out.

The Unconventional Guide to Art and Money: Unconventional Guides Product Page As someone who went to college for fine art photography, (one step up from poetry or philosophy for a career choice, no?), I have a special place in my heart for this course.  I hear all the time about people who want to leave their corporate job…to go move abroad and support themselves by making art.  Before this course, my gut reaction was always ‘Yeah, um, good luck with that’.  Chris shows that you do not have to sell out to make money with art, that you do not have to live in a major city, and that YES, you can realistically support yourself as an artist.

So, if you know what it is that you want (whether that be to work less, travel more, work for yourself as opposed to for a boss), yet you are still unsure of exactly how to make it a reality, I can honestly recommend that the corresponding course would be a great place to start. You may agree wholeheartedly with EFAM’s slogan, ‘Live where you want to live… Live how you want to live… And make money doing it!’, but what are you actually doing to make it happen for YOU? Take the first step forward to get you down a path that you know you want to be heading down by going to the site HERE. Unconventional Guides Product Page
