The Home Based Business That is Taking the Expat World By Storm

Empower Network works!

So, in the last edition of EFAM I wrote about how I was somewhat (okay, more than somewhat) skeptically trying out a new home based business, Empower Network, that I was hearing about everywhere. I made it clear that I had not much of an idea of what I was getting myself into, but when I stacked up what I had to lose vs. what I might have to gain, it was a no-brainer to at least give it a solid go.  Since then, I have a much better idea of the system, and can share with you my recent experience.

Empower Network started out in October of 2011 by David Wood and David Sharpe.  In the first 72 hours after they launched, they paid out over $250,000 of commissions.  After having to tweak their systems to account for unheard of traffic numbers, they then went on to pay out over $4 million within the first 4 months.  Now, just a few months later, the site ranks in the top 1200 in the world.   Not too shabby!

There are two ways to be involved with Empower Network.  One is to just use the service, which is basically a blogging platform.  You might ask, why would people pay $25 a month for a blogging platform?  If you have ever built a web site or have hosted your own blog – you know that setting up your site is actually the easy part. Getting people to actually find your site with your message, product, or service in search engines is the hard part.  The way the internet works is that older sites or sites with more authority get ranked higher than newer sites with less authority. This means you can literally being doing everything right… but if you have a brand new domain and a brand new web site – you simply will not show up very high in any search engines for quite some time. And it’s not because you are doing anything wrong… it’s just that’s how the internet unfortunately works.

What bloggers and businesses can do with Empower Network is pay $25 a month, and latch on to the rankings and the success of a site that already has HUGE authority. They will get a blogging platform that makes it so that even the least tech-savvy person can instantly have a site to promote anything (articles about their business, or certain travel writer musings, it doesn’t matter), and it will immediately have much more online presence. For many businesses the extra traffic is well worth the $25, and it is perfect for smaller business owners who do not know how to build an intricate website, and do not want to spend thousands of dollars to have one set up for them.

So this is the service that Empower Network provides.  You can pay $25 a month, use the service, and live happily ever after.  Or, you can choose to be an affiliate, market the system, get 100% of the commissions of anyone else who buys the $25 a month blogging platform or any of the other products that are offered, and live even more happily ever after.  The cost to be an affiliate is $19.95 a month.

Should you decide to pay the additional $19.95 per month to participate in the “empower network compensation plan”, here’s how it all goes down:

  • You post and promote whatever you want on your new authority blog
  • You promote the blog posts to rank on the search engines (we teach you how)
  • People find your blog posts to learn more about what you are promoting
  • 15% of the people who visit your posts will click the link on your site to learn more about Empower Network
  • A certain percentage of these people will buy the product and you earn a 100% residual monthly commission

Something I had to figure out this month was that you pass up commissions earned for your 2nd, 4th, 6th and every 5th sale thereafter that you make. These commissions are passed up to the person who referred you to Empower Network.  At first I was like, “Huh?  No fair!  I want those commissions!”…until I got every 2nd, 4th, 6th, and 5th sale thereafter from every single person that I referred to Empower Network.  Let’s just say I am no longer pouting, and it all very much works out in the end.

The only other thing that you have to do that I did not understand at first, but it is as simple as can be, is set up an E-Wallet account to be able to receive your commissions. E-Wallet charges $19.95 a month, and it is the system that will process all of your orders, refunds, commissions, etc.  Once a week, on a Friday, they will deposit all of your commissions wherever you want them to – a bank account, they can send you a check, whatever.  E-Wallet is perfect for people living abroad, because you can access your money in many different ways.

As someone who has worked with many affiliate programs, who is a recovering Amway saleswoman, I can say that I have seen and done a lot of affiliate marketing. Empower Network has blown me away. In my first two weeks, I made enough to be able to pay for more than a month’s rent down in Argentina – and this income is residual and should grow every month with some effort. I do not have to wait months and months for my initial efforts to kick in – I have seen results quickly.  I’m not saying that it is magic. Just like anything, you have to put in some effort, you have to do your part. Don’t come crying to me that the system does not work if you bought it, then sat back, twiddled your thumbs,  and just waited for checks to instantly appear.  No, that is YOU not working, not the system.

For anyone who wants to make money either in the US or abroad, I really can recommend Empower Network.  There is no babysitting of anyone, no hand-holding of your team – Empower Network handles all of that for you.  They make it simple as can be, no matter how much of a tech idiot you may be, or how little you know of business or marketing.  The hardest part for me was trying not to reinvent the wheel.  Just get in, follow their game plan that they lay out for you, and before you know it you can be well on your way to much more financial freedom than you may have now. It doesn’t matter if you want to just make a few extra dollars per month to help put your daughter in dance lessons, or if you want to make enough to live like a king – only you set your limits for yourself.

This is the first time I have come across the Empower Network so thanks for writing about it. I am always looking for new ways for travelers and expats to make a living from overseas and this looks like it could be suitable for people who are just starting out.

There is a lot to be said for affiliate marketing and in my opinion it is one of the best ways to earn money whilst working remotely. For people who do not have much experience of what it entails the Empower Network sounds like it could be a good place to start.

    Boa tarde!
