Escape to Vanuatu

“Ruby and I were married yesterday on the beach, barefoot, just after sunset, under a light tropical shower surrounded by newfound friends from Australia, New Zealand and Vanuatu.”  I am quoting the man in the spotlight, Randy Mitchell, in regards to our ceremony in Vanuatu.  But let’s go back to the beginning.

It all started with Escape from America.  I was browsing the internet for investment/retirement opportunities and stumbled across the site.  Vanuatu caught my eye and I made a connection with Richard Butler, who we later found out was Australia’s Trade Commissioner for Vanuatu.  What started out as an inspection trip turned into so much more.  Vacation, Investment, Marriage, Employment and *Retirement (or *Relocation, as Richard has taught us!), all wrapped into one! It was the trip of a lifetime and our path in life is forever altered.

Richard was there for us every step of the way, making flight arrangements and accommodations at Breakas Beach Resort.  He was overjoyed when we told him we’d like to be married while we were there and assisted in the arrangement of our ceremony at the resort!  Everything fell into place and the next thing we knew, we were in Vanuatu, standing on the beach getting married!  The owner of the resort and the staff made us feel like royalty, and shared in our excitement over being married there. We snorkeled, shopped, swam, dined, and rode the zip line in the jungle.  We toured investment property with Richard and that was all it took to finalize the decision to invest in Vanuatu. We also had the opportunity to meet with the Attorney that manages the legal end of investments for Richard.  Everyone we encountered regarding our business and personal dealings in Vanuatu was a joy to work with, more than helpful and sincerely interested in our happiness and success.  I believe in Vanuatu so much that I made the decision to become a Business Development Manager for Richard!

Vanuatu is an unspoiled paradise, natural and native.  It was voted the Happiest Place on the Planet, and it isn’t difficult to see why! Survivor Vanuatu was filmed there and an Idiot Abroad visited there to jump with the planet’s first bungee jumpers. There are no gangs, and low crime. The people are English speaking Christians, sweet and simple. There are few bugs and no snakes. The Republic of Vanuatu is a literal Tax Haven, no income tax, corporate tax, property tax.
