I had an amazing time at the 29th annual California Women’s Conference this past week, May 19 & 20th in Long Beach, California. I was there to support my good friend and the Executive Director of the Women’s Network, Michelle Patterson. I helped behind the scenes of the conference and was also a featured speaker. At EscapeArtist, we’ve hosted many conferences, but nothing this size: Over 3,000 attendees and 100 speakers over three days! It was an honor for me to participate, and to learn from the talented team behind the event.
Michelle Paterson, the President of the California Women’s Conference, invited me to speak on “the Passion and Purpose of an Entrepreneur.” Since we at EscapeArtist are just launching our very own community, Passion and Purpose (a joint venture with YoPro), I thought it would be a good topic to share my thoughts on. That said, it was an amazing experience to see all aspects of this event from three different viewpoints.
As a greeter and check in assistant, I got to meet at least 300 women (and yes, men too). These attendees ranged from the ages of 18-80. People came from very different backgrounds, including students, housewives, business owners, authors, government contractors and retirees. They were excited to hear motivational and celebrity speakers including
- Lisa Nichols, founder of Motivating The Teen Spirit
- Arianna Huffington – Very excited as I’ve admired the Huffington Post for years!
- Country singer Mary Lambert
- The one and only boxing promoter, Don King
- The inspirational, world-renowned Jack Canfield, the originator of the Chicken Soup for the Soul® series
All were very personable and excited to be a part of this event.
I participated in a panel of speakers who gave their motivational stories of how they became the people they are today. I shared the stage with Rose Tafoya, Ted McGrath and Michelle Barnes.
I had many great experiences attending this event, but one of the highlights was when an attendee approached me after my presentation and thanked me for sharing my story. She said it was the motivation she needed to hear.
That’s why I love EscapeArtist. There are no limits to what we provide to our audience. There is no age requirement or personal preference. There is no country excluded. There is just no topic that falls outside our mantra: Live, Work, Play, Retire and Invest Anywhere!
I spoke with so many people that were powerfully impacted by a speaker or person they met at the event. and I’m no exception. I’d like to thank Michelle and her staff for putting this conference together, and to acknowledge them for all their hard work. They have created an event that can touch, motivate and heal the lives of everyday women and men. I commend you for a conference well done!
